The Shot

€0.00

Today I was out in the Deelerwoud. I’ve gotten out here to make a new POV video and to get that one particular shot I had in mind. I had not seen many deer in the last hour, and I was starting to lose hope.

As I was casually walking and talking to my camera about life, I suddenly saw a slight movement in the right corner of my eye.

I stopped and immediately scanned the area, till my surprise I saw 3 male grown ups standing only a couple hundred meters away from me, staring at me, wondering.

I knew deer would only freeze for a couple seconds, until they’d make a run for it. I was scared I wasn’t gonna be able to get a shot in time, so I without thinking, I gave a swing at my shutter-speed and started pressing the shutter a couple times. I got my camera low, high, left, zoomed in, zoomed out, horizontal, vertical, changing compositions in seconds.

I was sure of it, that when i’d get home, I’d have a variety of photo’s to choose from.

This encounter only lasted for a short 2 minutes and that was enough.

I was so happy I got the chance to finally photograph wildlife in this cold winter.
